   He hails from a middle class family of a non-descript village of Rampura in Madhya Pradesh.
    He passed his board exams in English medium, at a time when education in English medium was unheard of.
    An IITian with specialization in Architecture, he started his independent practice in 1974 and helped Indore grow vertically.
   His educationists' lineage kicked in and provoked him to do something in the field of education. He laid the foundation of Indore Public School in 1987 and IPS Academy in 1994.   He was the first to recognize the importance of CBSE affiliation, Computer Education, Proper School Transportation System, Mid-Day Meals, Dedicated Sports Education & more.    Besides being an architect, an educationist, a mentor, a sculptor, a travel enthusiast, he is also a fine TT player.    An environment lover, he saved a 250 yr. Old banyan Tree by re-planting it at IPS Academy.
    He encourages new talent and has funded multiple entrepreneurial projects like Twist Mobile, Rivaazz, TheDealsRoom.com & many more.
   He is the Vice President of All India Shwetambar Jain Samaj, Patron  Bisa Porwal Samaj and many more such Societies.
 He has also contributed to education & upliftment of the underprivileged.


From Village to Knowledge Village
Hailing from a humble family from Rampura, a small village in Madhya Pradesh, a young boy dreamed of doing things, no one had heard of in his village. But he was determined not to let go of it. In the days, when English was not a very popular medium of education, he attempted the Board exams in English and later made it to one of the IITs.
But this was just the beginning of his many unconventional choices. Specializing in architecture, he declined many lucrative job offers and started his independent practice in Indore. During his initial years he would visit sites on a bicycle, explaining his clients the meaning and importance of architects in designing structures and effective utilization of spaces. His creations were a rare blend of comfort, aesthetics and eco- friendly designs. Within a short span of time, Ar. Achal Choudhary became a respected name in the business and carved a niche for himself in providing tailor made architectural solutions. Also he was the first architect to introduce the concept of Multi-storey buildings in Indore. After which, he went on to create many firsts to his name. His contributions in raising Indore’s skyline and giving the city a whole new way of living are widely acknowledged.
An unstoppable force
Bestowed with great success and recognition Ar. Achal Choudhary did not stop, instead, he embarked on a new journey to contribute to the development of youth, city and society as a whole. Recognizing the lack of quality educational facilities in Indore, Mr. Choudhary decided to establish an institution that provides quality education to masses with an infrastructure at par with premiere institutes across India.
Being the first to determine the importance of CBSE affiliation, computer education, healthy mid-day meals, convenient school transportation system, he laid the foundation of his institute on these pillars. In the year 1987, his dream came into being in the form of Indore Public School. Soon after its inception, the school became a pioneer and a trendsetter in various fields and its teaching practices and innovations were later adopted by many others in Indore & across India. What started as a sapling has now expanded its branches in the form of six different campuses, providing education to thousands. In 1994, the School’s unprecedented success led to the establishment of IPS Academy. The simple mission to provide quality education was now taking enormous shape as many eminent personalities including Padmashree Dr. M. S Sodha, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Lucknow, Bhopal & Indore university, renowned nuclear scientist Dr. B.L Saraf, Dr. V.D. Nagar, a recognized economist, Dr. R.D. Agrawal, a Professor from Harvard joined hands and made IPS Academy one of India’s top ranking institutes.   
At IPS Academy, it has been his endeavour to provide education that leads to multi-faceted development of a student’s innate talents, intellectual & physical capabilities, instil Indian values and culture, thus making them responsible citizens and conscientious human beings. Thus it followed a teaching methodology which is a fine blend of theory sessions coupled with experiential learning & 0n-field experience and enables students to face the challenges of competition & globalization. Along with this, the institute also follows a continuous & rigorous training regime to hone communication skills, inculcate leadership & entrepreneurial skills to ensure a promising career.  And the presence of IPS alumni across the globe stands testimony to the triumph of Mr. Choudhary.         
Today, IPS Academy boasts of 16 Colleges spread over a huge 60 acre campus and 71 Courses. The Academy’s Architecture course is ranked among Top 5 in the country and stands No.1 in Central India. Coming from a small village, Mr. Choudhary wasaware of the difficulties faced by the village students in pursuing valuable education, thus with an aim to facilitate quality education to the students in rural areas IPS branched out to cities like Jhabua, Sanwer, Mhow.
Being an avid Table Tennis player, Mr. Choudhary strongly supported sports activities and encouraged the students to take part in various sports events. And to ensure more and more students make sports a regular part of their life, he ensured availability of adequate sports infrastructure in the IPS Academy with Indoor Swimming Pool, Olympic Size Swimming Pool (under construction), Cricket ground, Football Ground, Lawn Tennis, Skating Rink, Volleyball, basketball, TT, Badminton courts & more.
As much he was concerned about higher education so was his concern for kindergarten kids. Due to which in another initiative Mr. Choudhary laid the foundation for Indo Kids - A school for primary and pre-primary education. With Indo Kids he also introduced the concept of bag less schools to avoid burdening the little kids with heavy bags.
The man with a golden heart
As a responsible citizen, Mr. Choudhary always feels the need for giving more to the society. Resonating which, all his efforts are directed towards facilitating affordable education, strengthening research & development, constructing eco-friendly structures and facilitating unmatched education to one and all. Apart from holding respectable positions in education and construction sector, Mr. Choudhary also serves as the All India President of Shwetambar Jain Samaj and rigorously works towards their development.  
More to be proud of    Our Department of Physics is authorized by Bhabha Atomic Centre for the preparation of laboratory grade radioactive sources.
  A 14” Celestrone telescope enabled with computerized and automatic tracking facilities is mounted at the top of our Institute’s building to study about Space.
   Our Department of Fire & Safety Engineering is one of the rarest engineering colleges in the Country to offer 4 years degree course.
    Edusat – a RGPV-ISRO satellite education facility is available at IPS Engineering College.
    Foucault Pendulum designed and fabricated in our workshop is fully functional at our institute.

Dr. Babulal Saraf

Prof. Dr. Babu Lal Saraf

Prof. Babulal Saraf was an institution in himself and in his death; we feel that it
was end of an institution, Prof. Saraf was born on March 31, 1924 in a small town of Badnawar, Distt.
Dhar of Malwa Region. After his school education in his town and in Dhar he did his B.Sc. from Jaipur and M.Sc. (Physics) from Agra University in the year 1947 and Ph.D. in 1957 in the field of Experimental Nuclear Physics.
After getting his M.Sc. degree he worked in the department of Physics, Agra College, Agra for two years. During his short stay there, he got interested in Research and moved to Delhi where he worked in the University of Delhi for about one & half year. Subsequently, he got an opportunity to work at Bartol Research Foundation, Franklin Institute, Swarthmore. Pennsylvania, USA, form 1953 to 1956, during this period he worked in the field of experimental Nuclear Physics and published his research work in Physical Review. –
After returning to India, he joined Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) then headed by eminent scientist H.J. Bhabha and Nuclear Physics group headed by Dr. Ramanna. He continued his research work in the experimental Nuclear Physics at BARC. Though his research was a quality work all published in internationally reputed journal, Physical Review. But his interest was to serve the science community in general and Physics community in particular by way of developing experiments and designing associated equipment for school, college and University laboratories as an aid to teach basic concepts at that level. As such he was sent to University of Rajasthan as Prof, and Head, Department of Physics in 1962. It was the time when Physics as a subject was at its peak of popularity in Universities and colleges. He established a Center for Development of Physics Education (CDPE) with the assistance from University Grants Commission and started work of his own choice and interest. He developed kits and equipments in almost all fields of Physics and supplied them to Universities and colleges throughout the country at no profit no loss basis. He also conducted several workshop and summer programs to train college/University teachers in these experiments. In fact he wanted to develop an attitude/culture among the teaching community to emphasize the need of experimental work in understanding the basis of Physics and sciences.
Prof. Abdus Salam, then Director of ICTP got interested in his work and sent him to some African Countries to establish such centers in the Universities there and also spread the culture of experimental science. Under this program, he spent some time in Nigeria, Tanzania and Kenya. He also visited other countries of this region along with his equipments.
After retiring from Jaipur, he remained active and got some funds from UGC to run Physics Education Project at Ratlam (1992 - 1997) under the umbrella of UGC, and govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Under this program, he designed and fabricated seven - eight equipments which could be used to perform a large variety of Nuclear Physics Experiments. Not only this, but he supplied a set of these experiments to some postgraduate colleges of Indore and Ujjain University and helped in establishing the laboratory in these colleges. This was a unique work, only a person like Prof. Saraf could do. This work made him popular in his own region, the Malwa Region. When the Ratlam Project came to end, IPS Academy, Indore offered him a place where he could continue his activities with its financial support. Age was no barrier for him and during his stay at IPS Academy, he developed quite a few new experiments and associated equipments, notably among them were Foucault Pendulum, Timers with special features, sample and hold voltmeter (nearly ideal).
He also succeeded in convincing Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) to allow the preparation of laboratory grade radioactive sources in our laboratory at IPS Academy. This was a unique achievement since DAE did not permit this type of activity outside its own territory.
He was not an ardent writer but he wrote two books in association with his co-workers.
1. Physics Through Experiment, Vol. I & II, Published by Vikas Publishing House.
2. Four Apparatus for the laboratory education in Quantum Electrodynamics & Nuclear Physics - Published by IPS Academy. He was founder member of IAPT and took keen interest in its activities throughout his life.

Dr. Tayeb A. Sihorwala

Dr. Tayeb A. Sihorwala ,born on 15 Jul 1942, a Chartered Engineer, awarded by the Best Degree Engineering College Teacher all India level in 1991. He was awarded “Russel Ekoff” award for year 1997 for presenting best research work on topic related to Earthworm biotechnology by University of Widner (USA) out of 150 such works presented by 32 different countries of the world. In 1998 awarded Vijayshri and Man of the Year Award. He has experience of learning in reputed college of Delft (Netherlands) and Teaching in Basra Tech. Institute Basra (Iraq). He chaired many international conferences in different parts of world specially in USA, Europe, East Asia & West Asia. He worked as President of Indian water works Association and associated with 10 different organizations . He guided more than 130 postgraduate and Ph.D thesis.

He did his B.E. (Civil) with Hons. and M.E. (PHE) from prestigious institute V.J.T.I., Mumbai associated to Bombay University in 1965 & 1967 respectively. On getting fellowship from NUFFIC, (Delft). The Netherlands he completed his post graduate diploma in Sanitary Engineering Equivalent to M.S. in 1974-75. He completed his Ph.D. from Indore University in 1982 working on topic related to Tertiary Treatment of Domestic Sewage of Bombay for Industrial Recycling by settings up a pilot scale study at Dadar Sewage Treatment Plant at Dadar, Bombay. Dr. Sihorwala has a record of outstanding contribution in research, Development and consultancy in different subjects related to Environ. Engg. & Science Dr. Sihorwala initiated two different post graduate programmes in the subject of Environ. Engg. for different disciplines of graduate Engineers at S.G.S. Inst. of Tech. &Sc. Indore (M.P.). Dr. Sihorwala is working since lasf 41 years as teacher of Environ. Engg. subjects for graduate and post graduate courses. Considering his extra ordinary contribution as an academician, Ministry of Human Resource Govt. of Ind-a, Indian Society of Technical Education, New Delhi awarded him National Prestigious award namely "ANNA AWARD" FOR BEST ENGINEERING DEGREE TEACHER AMONG 28000 TEACHERS OF DIFFERENT ENGINEERING COLLEGES OF INDIA IN YEAR 1991 including those of all IITS Dr. Sihorwala was also awarded by the organizers of 13th International Conference on "Solid Waste Technology and Management, University of Widner, Philadelphia, USA the prestigious award namely "Russel - Eckoff Award for Best Technical Research Paper out of 150 such publications by researchers from 32 different countries of the world in Nov. 1997. In addition to these, Dr. Sihorwala is recipient of many other awards namely 'VIJAYSHRI AWARD', MAN OF THE YEAR 1997 AWARD" FROM INDIA AND USA.

He has over 90 national and international publications, several radio talks, popular lectures in this subjects related to Environ. Engg. He has written as co­author a book in Hindi on topic "Chlorination & Chlorinator”. He has prepared more than 12 Course Manuals.Dr. Sihorwala has guided around 90 ME/M.Tech. Dissertation Works and 2 Ph.D. works. He was principle investigator from India for a research project from London University on "Drainage Evaluation for City of Indore", and a research project of "Energy recovery from Waste" sponsored by ministry of Human resource development, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

In the field of technology. Dr. Sihorwala is organizing since 1989 different useful refresher
Courses & training programme every year for field engineers from different stales of India, sponsoring by ministry of Urban affairs and Employments Govt. of India, CPHEEO, New Delhi as main co-ordinator. For this course, he edited different course manuals for the berterit o.f the participants. He has also organised and assisted different training programmes for the engineers of Public Health Engg. Depts. of Govt. of M.P. and for the villagers as users of India mark -2 Hand Pump. He has written the technical papers as co-author for the special types of pump namely Chemical Pumps, Sludge Pumps to be used in public Health Engineering projects. Dr. Sihorwala has also been involved in the design of different components of prestigious Narmada Water Supply Project for city of Indore" namely pumping installations, surge control devices, rising main, gravity main and different appurtenances of the system. He has been associated for other water supply projects of different cities & townships in M.P. He has been a consultant for more than 30 projects for Industrial, public and private organisations through S.G.S. Institute of Tech. & Sc., Indore for projects related to Environ. Engineering. Dr. Sihorwala is actively associated in helping Indore Fire Brigade (Police) for their need for pumping installations & accessories for fire fighting purposes. For said contribution Dr. Sihorwala was honoured by them. He has been involved in the develcoment of Environ-Engineering laboratories of S.G.S. Inst. of Tech. & Sc., Indore.In 1998 he has conferred with honours, for his excellent participation in 1st Asian Conference on water and Waste Water Management at Tehran (Iran). Dr. Sihorwala travelled extensively for delivering invited lectures, for presenting research papers, for visiting different projects in USA, U.K., Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, and other Western European Countries, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and other East Assian Countries, Iraq, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other West Asian Countries.

In addition to his technical contribution Dr. Sihorwala is associated with different social organisations namely Rotary Club, Lion's Club, Centre for Environmental protection & development, Indore, Eco- Society, Indore ; Abhayas Mandal, Indore, Soclean Society, Mumbai etc.

The dynamism and Untiring works of Dr. Sihorwala lias added new dimensions to the field of Environ. -Engg. in particular and Civil Engineering and technology in general. At present, he is working as a MEMBER OF EDITORIAL BOARD OF JOURNAL OF PUMPS INDIA. In past he worked as a MEMBER OF EDITORIAL BOARD OF JOURNAL OF INDIAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION.
